Easy

  • The guesthouse Eystri-Sólheimar is ideally situated halfway between Reykjavik and Vatnajökull National Park (Skaftafell).

  • It lies 12 km east of Skógar with the famous waterfall and 22 km west of Vik, the southernmost village in Iceland.

  • The single farmstead is just 1.5 km/ 1 mile away from the Ring Road Nr 1 at the end of the access road.
Driving
From the West
e.g. Reykjavík
  • Leaving Reykjavík eastbound stay on Ring Road Nr.1 (Þjóðvegur)

  • Drive through Selfoss, Hella and Hvolsvöllur (gas station, supermarket etc) to Skógar

  • Pass Skógar with its waterfall on your left; after 12 km / 8 miles turn left at our blue sign

  • The farm house (green roof) is about 1,5 km / 1 mile at the end of the gravel road
From the East
e.g. Kirkjubæjarklaustur

  • Leaving any place westbound stay on Ring Road Nr.1 (Þjóðvegur)

  • Drive through the village Vik (gas station, supermarket etc) towards Reykjavik

  • After 22 km / 14 miles turn right at our blue sign (see below)

  • The farm house (green roof) is about 1,5 km / 1 mile at the end of the the gravel road
